Wow, I cannot believe Christmas is almost here. It seems like just yesterday I was starting college. Now I have one semester out of the way. Only eleven to go!
Christmas is probably my favorite time of year. I love getting time of school to spend with family, which is mostly mom and me being lazy all day, every day. I miss my time with family. While I am at school, I only get to see my family every once in awhile. I understand I made the choice to go away, but every now and then, a girl just needs to be with her family. That is why Christmas is so important to me. The presents really do not matter. Of course, they are nice to get, but in the scheme of things, I really do not need another thing. But I cannot let my parents know that. Haha
I enjoy the reason for the season as well. This is the time when Jesus really gets to shine. He's everywhere, whether people want Him to be or not. I love reading the Christmas Story from the Bible on Christmas Eve.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Bethel Temple in Evansville for their Sunday morning service. I had the worst time finding a parking spot and could not figure out why. Once I got inside, I realized "The Living Christmas Tree" was going on. I had heard about it, but did not know if I would be able to go see it. I thought it was just on one Saturday in December. Turns out, they have many performances, including one on Sunday morning. It was fabulous. I had never experienced anything like it. It really put things in perspective for me. I need to be spending more time with Jesus. There is no excuse. School, homework, friends, and the like can wait. I need to be spending as much time as I can with my Lord. He gave everything for me and my sin, yet I can barely give Him five minutes in my day. I will make it through college and everything after with Jesus by my side, because I will take the time to worship Him in all that I do.
Yeah, Evan. Good job! I love you!
